Seven people were injured in an explosion in the southeastern Turkish city of Diyarbakir, Turkish media reported Monday.

ANKARA (Sputnik) — According to the NTV television channel, the incident occurred at 13:30 GMT during the demolition of a building in the Sur area, where the Dicle University campus is located. The cause of the explosion is unknown yet. The condition of some injured people is serious.

Ambulances were reportedly arriving at the scene.
